COMMISSIONS
The DRU Commissioning Programme enables artists working in digital and interactive media to create new work. Commissioned artists may work locally or remotely. In all cases we provide resources to disseminate and promote the work online. Wherever possible we place DRU Artist’s Commissions in cultural spaces; online, CD ROM and DVD distribution, gallery/public installations, festivals, conferences and seminars.
The first DRU Commission, ‘QQQ’ has been created by Tom Betts [aka nullpointer], artist, programmer, designer, composer and musician. QQQ was launched at the Evolution Festival in Leeds [Oct 2002]. QQQ is an advanced online game mod, utilising remote player actions and a modified engine to create a realtime stream of generative imagery.
